Here's my take on this week's Clean and Simple's FTL130 Sketch Challenge.
I have been wanting to use this sheet of DSP ever since the UPS man delivered it a few weeks ago. There is a lot going on with this DSP so I decided to tone it down a little and pair it with some Melon Mambo Patterned DSP.
I decided to go with the Happy Mother's Day stamp from the Level 2 Hostess Set called Something to Celebrate. My mother made a lot of my clothes when I was growing up and she taught me how to sew as well, so it was only natural that I think of her when creating this card. If I had a nickle for every time she measured me with a measuring tape, I think I would have at least $100. I am totally in love with the Sew Suite stamp set (#121933w/122009c) and all the coordinating accessories.
I honestly thought this card sketch would be an easy one, but I found myself struggling to bring balance to it. I tried using just a fabric designer brad or a coordinating button, but neither one alone was enough, so I added a lollipop flower that I made a while back with Early Espresso card stock and the circle die #2. I still found myself wanting something more, so I added some pearlized stick pin leaves (by Dritz) that I purchased in the notions department at the fabric store. I was excited to see how well they coordinate with this DSP. Now that it is finished, I totally love this card and can hardly wait until Mother's Day to send it.
Head on over the my online store to purchase everything you need to make this fun card.
