I was inspired to create this card by one that I saw on page 83 of CARD STYLE magazine. The only thing was, her card used a beautiful graphic-style DSP and there just wasn't anything close in my stamping stash. I then happened to see a card on SCS that used the lattice die in a similar manner, so I tweeked both ideas to come up with this card. I couldn't achieve the exact look of the magazine card, but I came pretty darn close to creating a card with the same elegant feel. I love, love, love the black and Certainly Celery combo, but I had a terrible time photographing it. The green color kept washing out to look Black & White, so I heavily color corrected it in Photoshop so that hopefully you could at least get the idea of what the card really looks like. It turns out that I really like the black & white version too, so I thought I would share that with you too. I think this card would be an amazing wedding card.
To create the lattice background, I used the lattice die and cut three images in basic black card stock. I reserved the diamond shaped pieces so that I could add them back in between the die cuts. I used repositionable Dotto so that I could reposition the pieces if necessary (and believe me, it was necessary). Some of the edge pieces need a more permanent adhesive. (I can't wait to try the new Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets available in the new Holiday Mini on Sept. 1st.)
