We have another great color challenge this week at Global Design Project.
When I begin working on a color challenge, I typically assemble products like ink, paper, cardstock, markers, and watercolor pencils. This way I know that I have everything I could possibly need before I make a decision on which direction my card will take. For some reason, when I did this with this particular color challenge, I discovered that my choices were limited. The Stampin' Blends don't come in Garden Green, I don't have any DSP with all of these colors, there isn't even a Mint Macaron watercolor pencil in either assortment. I did have all the inks, but I couldn't even find my Balmy Blue ink refill. So, I decided to focus on what I do have...cardstock and of course...dies.
I die cut several flowers and leaves using the Pierced Blooms die set (#14312). I reserved the Garden Green cardstock for the leaves. I really wanted one more color so I added "white". To make things even better, I already had an assembled "thanks" greeting from an earlier crafting session made with the new Amazing Thanks die set (#157816).
Pastels almost always look stunning when paired with black, so I used some of the polka dot paper in the Pattern Party 12" x 12" Host Rewards DSP (#155426). This card literally came together in a snap. I added a few clear rhinestone gems and the card was complete.
I am really excited about how this card turned out. It may seem simple, but setting aside a little extra time to take stock of my supplies at the beginning of the creative process saved so much time overall.
I WOULD LOVE TO BE YOUR STAMPIN' UP! DEMONSTRATOR
If you are in the United States and need a demonstrator, then you can order your supplies in my online store here.
Have a blessed day!
