We have a new color challenge this week at the Global Design Project project blog. For my card, I started with a top-folding Night of Navy card base and set it aside for later. Then I stamped a random floral pattern on a 5.5"x4.25" piece of Night of Navy cardstock with Night of Navy ink using one of the beautiful floral images from the Bloom and Grow stamp set (#149229). (NOTE: Tone-on-tone stamping is a great way to create subtle interest on your backgrounds.) This is the piece I die cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies (#148551). I also cut a slightly larger rectangle from Mint Macaron cardstock to layer between the two. I adhered the larger piece to the card front and then glued the smaller panel to the Mint Macaron piece.
Next, I wrapped a strand of the Whisper White Flax Ribbon (#148764) around the panel before attaching it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430).
I stamped and fussy cut three of the same floral image using Melon Mambo ink on Whisper White cardstock. I also stamped and fussy cut some of the leaves in the set with Mint Macaron ink.
Finally, I stamped a greeting from the same stamp set and die cut it with the 2" Stitched Shapes circle die (#145372). I also punched a slightly larger Night of Navy circle using the 2-1/4" Circle Punch (#143720) to layer behind the sentiment.
I even made a coordinating 3"x3" notecard with some of the extra pieces I had leftover. One of the things I love about today's projects is that I only used one stamp set. This Bloom & Grow stamp set is so beautiful and versatile.
Be sure to check out what the other talented designers/players have created for this great color challenge at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog.
We would love to have you play along with us this week.
