I have an unexpected post for you today...and when I say unexpected, I mean unexpected to me too! Let me explain. Yesterday I was working frantically to get a card made for an upcoming post and then, once it was complete and photographed, I realized I had done it incorrectly. Yes, that is right! I made a card using Sale-a-Bration product without thinking about the fact that SAB is almost over. Yikes! I did all that work only to find out that I couldn't use it as I had originally intended. But my mistake is your good fortune, because I decided to share it here on my blog.
I started with the Kerchief Card Kit as the foundation of my card. It is only available for a few more days (if it has not already sold out) as one of the free items you can earn for SAB. I paired it with the Happy Birthday to You stamp set and coordinating dies as well as a frame from the Heirloom Frames Dies & 3D Embossing Folders (#152325). The unusual thing about this card is that I turned it into an easel card by cutting the front off the card base and then adding an additional card base made with Poppy Parade cardstock.
I love the way the Happy Birthday font coordinates with the pre-printed sentiments from the kit. I have really been enjoying the Happy Birthday to You stamp set and I will be sad when it is no longer available. Of course, I can continue to use it, I just won't share it on my blog.
I won't spend time explaining how to make an easel card, but trust me, it is really easy. The thing I wanted to point out, however, is how I made a stopper for the stand using a rhinestone on one side and a flower on the other. I used Stampin' Blends to color the floral images as well.
Thanks for stopping by, and I will see you all again very soon. Sending you all a virtual hug during this challenging time!
