This week we are CASEing Charlet Mallett at Global Design Project.
I decided to ditch the color scheme and focus on the basic layout of Charlet's lovely card. I used the same Parisian Blossoms Suite but in a completely different way. I have desperately wanted to dig in and use the Cherry Blossoms Die Set so I made them the focus of my layout. We have had a bit of warm weather for this time of year, so some of our pear trees are already trying to bud. Thankfully we have another cold spell predicted for later this week so hopefully, it will keep things from budding too early. I have a love-hate relationship with Spring due to my allergies, so as much as I hate the cold, I would really like for Springtime to hold off for at least a few more weeks.
I started with a Soft Suede card base and added some of the beautiful Parisian Blossoms Speciality Paper (#151192) I die cut several flowers from Whisper White cardstock and layered varying sizes to create more realistic blooms.
A Take Your Pick Tool came in very handy when assembling this card and adding the leaves and champaign rhinestones. For the perfect finishing touches I added Crinkled Seam Binding bow and a copper bee embellishment from the Botanical Prints Product Medley.
We would love to have you play along with us this week. Be sure to check out what the other talented designers/players have created for this challenge at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog.
