We have a color challenge this week over at the Global Design Project project blog. This color pallet is perfect for Valentine's Day.
I have been enjoying the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set and coordinating Lily Pad Dies. You can earn them for free during Sale-A-Bration. To create this beautiful card background I first created a gradient wash on a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper (149612). I used Flirty Flamingo at the top and Real Red at the bottom. After the piece was dry, I die cut it several times with the Lily Pad background die and mounted the pieces on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. After the panel was complete, I trimmed it down and mounted it on a slightly larger Real Red card base.
I also stamped the flowers and leaves from the Lovely Lily Pad set using Memento Tudexo Jet Black Ink and then reversed the stamps and stamped the flower background with Flirty Flamingo ink and Granny Apple Green for the leaves. I used the coordinating die set to cut them out.
I also stamped the greeting from the Heartfelt stamp set in Real Red ink and used a 1-1/2" circle punch to cut it out.
I finished off the card with a few of the From My Heart Faceted Gems (#151154). Be sure to check out what the other talented designers/players have created for this great color challenge at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog. We would love to have you play along with us this week.
