This week we have a color challenge over at the Global Design Project project blog. I think you are going to love the jewel tones on this one.
The other day I saw a card by Artisan Design Team member, Jackie Aitken. It absolutely blew me away and I knew I had to give it a try. Jackie used the decorative pieces from the Detailed Bands Dies (#149549) to create a bespoke frame.
I took Jackie's idea and ran with it. Instead of cutting a frame with the Stitched Rectangle Dies, I used the Heirloom Frames Dies & 3D Embossing Folders (#152325). Instead of an open frame, I reinserted the center to help hide some of the mechanics from using the larger, more elaborate band in the die set.
For the sentiment, I used the Label Me Pretty stamp set (#151220) along with the coordinating Pretty Lable Punch (#143715) for the base layer. The top layers of the sentiment were die cut with the Layering Circles Dies (#141705).
The floral images ware stamped with the First Frost stamp set (#148913) and die cut with the Frosted Bouquet Dies (#147895).
Everything is mounted on a top-folding Thick Whisper White card base layered with a panel that is embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder (#151775).
Be sure to check out what the other talented designers/players have created for this great color challenge at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog. We would love to have you play along with us this week.
