This week at the Global Design Project challenge blog we are CASEing this lovely card by Brian King. Here's what I see when I look at Brian's card...a vibrant spring color pallet, flowers, and my favorite Gingham Gala DSP.
It always amazes me how we can all be inspired by the same card and come up with something entirely different. Most of the GDP design team focused on the card layout, while I decided to focus on the color pallet and gingham paper. This is the beauty of CASEing...finding what inspires YOU!
The flowers are from the Tea Together stamp set and coordinating Tea Time die set. I stamped them on Whisper White cardstock with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. You may have earned this set and/or dies during Sale-a-bration. But if you didn't, the great news is that it is returning in the new 2019-2020 Catalog and will be available on June 3, 2019.
I used three different techniques to color the flowers with Stampin' Blends Markers. First, the leaves are colored traditionally with the Granny Apple Green blends combo. Next, the blue flowers are colored with a Balmy Blue combo plus the Light Night of Navy marker for additional depth in the shadows. And finally, the small flowers are colored with the tip-to-tip method using Light Real Red and a Color Lifter marker.
The sentiment is from the Ribbon of Courage stamp set (#143855) and stamped in Melon Mambo ink. This stamp set is retiring soon, so if you want it, you need to order it before it goes away at the end of this month (May 2019).
We would love to have you play along with us this week. Be sure to check out what the other talented designers/players have created for this fun challenge at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog.
