We have very VIVID color challenge this week at the Global Design Project. I wasn't quite sure how I was going to pull this one off, but I gave it a try. Seriously, you may need to put on sunglasses to view the cards in this challenge.I am fairly certain I never would have picked this color combo on my own, but WOW! I decided to use some of the retiring DSP and mix it with a sneak peek of a new host stamp set coming in just a few weeks called Believe You Can (#149433). I stamped the focal point with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. I trimmed down the image and then layered it on Whisper White cardstock cut with the coordinating Stitched Nested Labels Dies (#149638).
To color the stamped image, I had to get a little creative. I don't have Stampin' Blends markers for all of the challenge colors, so I used Dark Pineapple Punch, Light Bermuda Bay, Dark Highland Heather, Light Pool Party, Light Smoky Slate and Granny Apple Green combo. For most of the colors (except the Granny Apple Green) I added shading with dry watercolor pencils (Daffodil Delight, Gorgeous Grape, and Coastal Cabana.
I added a thread nest behind the element and also added some rhinestones to some of the floral centers.
Be sure to check out what the other talented designers/players have created for this colorful challenge at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog. We would love to have you play along with us this week.
