This week at the Global Design Project challenge blog we are CASEing this cute card by Stesha Bloodhart. Here's what I see when I look at Stesha's card...a bright, fun color pallet, three die cut floral elements in the lower right corner with a sentiment in the upper left corner, and a grounding element across the bottom.
For my card, I stamped and die cut three flowers from the SAB Lasting Lily stamp set (#149717) on Whisper White cardstock. I used a similar color pallet of Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Granny Apple Green. For additional depth, I also used dry watercolor pencils (Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Old Olive) to carefully enhance the stamped flowers and leaves.
Next, I created a fun watercolor background by spritzing water onto a panel of die cut watercolor paper and dabbing on some Coastal Cabana ink some scrunched plastic wrap. Watercolor paper tends to have a bumpy surface, so after the panel was completely dry, I stamped the greeting several times in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink using a Stamparatus (#146376) stamp positioner for exact placement.
Finally, I added some white twine and a Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon bow along with some sequins and mounted the panel on a slightly larger panel of Melon Mambo cardstock. I was going to place the panel on a tilt just like Stesha's card, but the panel was too big and it just didn't work well.
We would love to have you play along with us this week. Be sure to check out what the other talented designers/players have created for this fun challenge at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog.
