We have a bright and beautiful color challenge this week at the Global Design Project challenge blog.
Don't these colors just scream SUMMER? I absolutely love this color combo. I needed to make a graduation card for an amazing young woman and these colors are just perfect for her. I know this isn't a traditional graduation card, but she isn't an ordinary girl. I wanted to encourage her to be true to herself and this sentiment from the new Rooted in Nature (#146482) stamp set is exactly what I wanted to say.
I started by stamping the leaves at the top of the card in Pumpkin Pie ink. Then as I moved down the card I added in Real Red to the center area, and finally worked my way into Rich Razzleberry ink. I also added some splatters by flicking ink from Pumpkin Pie and Real Red Stampin' Write Markers.
I die cut the lovely new butterfly twice (Pumpkin Pie and Real Read) using the new Springtime Impression Thinlits dies (#146326). You can't really tell from the photos, but I added some Clear Wink of Stella to both and stacked them together using Mini Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment three times, cut them into strips, and adhered them to the bottom right part of a vellum circle.
I added adhesive behind the sentiment and butterfly and attached the vellum to the card front. I attached everything to a top-folding card base made with Real Red cardstock and added a few clear rhinestones as a finishing touch.
We would love to have you play along with us this week. Be sure to check out what the other talented designers/players have created for this fun challenge at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog.
