Welcome to another Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. On this hop, we are focusing on the Garden Impressions Suite in the new 2018-2019 catalog.
I decided to start with a 4.25" square card base made with Heavy Whisper White Cardstock. I like this size because it will still fit inside a standard envelope and that saves money on postage.
The Garden Impressions 6"x6" DSP (#146289) is so bright and beautiful and you know how much I adore the Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon (#144232), so I just had to combine the two. The DSP is 3.5" square and the coordinating strip behind is 1.5"x4.25". The stitching on this card adds to the homespun look and feel. Even though you can't see it in the photo, the Pearlized Doilies (#146936) add a touch of elegance. The Abstract Impressions (#147513) stamp set is the perfect compliment to the DSP and the sentiments are beautiful.
This card is a variation of the first. Instead of actual machine stitching, I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits (#145372) to add the look of stitching and then added a thread nest behind the sentiment. I also dropped the bow to make it easier to send through the mail.
I thought it would be nice to make multiples of the cards and put them in a coordinating box. To create the small dots, I used a worn pencil eraser. The free form dots add interest.
