It's time for another great sketch challenge this week at Global Design Project.
I will admit that my card is a very loose interpretation of the sketch this week. I have said this often, but it is worth repeating...I use challenges for inspiration, but not always exactly as depicted. This week I substituted flowers for the paper strips and a heart with sentiment for the focal image.
Sometimes when I work on a card I am not really sure the direction I am taking, so I stamp and color extra pieces. I really hate to let them go to waste, so I try to incorporate them into future projects. If this card looks a little familiar, it is because it is mostly made with the extra pieces from last week's challenge card. The flowers are from the Petal Palette stamp set and die cut with the Petals & More Thinlits Dies and colored with Stampin' Blends markers. The heart/sentiment is from the Sure Do Love You set stamped with Powder Pink and Rich Razzleberry ink and die cut with the coordinating Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies.
The colors are basically the same as last week's challenge, but I added some pink flowers to balance out the pink heart. Everything is mounted on my favorite Wood Textures DSP. To finish it all off, I added some sequins from the Iridescent Assortment Pack.
We would love to have you play along with us this week. Be sure to check out what the other talented designers/players have created for this fun challenge at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog.
