We have a great color challenge this week at the Global Design Project challenge blog.
I am crazy over this new stamp set, Hello Color. It is based on the coloring book style that is so popular right now. As I explored the possibilities of this stamp set, I discovered that it also lends itself well to clean and simple stamping.
I stamped the fun background with Smoky Slate ink directly on the front center panel of a card base made with thick Whisper White cardstock. This particular set doesn't have any sentiments, so I borrowed the word "FRIENDS" from the Bloomin' Love stamp set, but you can use just about any word set you have on hand. I stamped with VersaMark ink on a strip of Smoky Slate cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
I stamped the flowers and leaves (feathers) with Basic Black Archival Ink on Whisper White cardstock and used sponge daubers to color them. Then I did some fussy cutting and paper piecing before adding them to the card front.
Finally, I added some White Perfect Accents to add just a hit of shine to the focal area.
We would love to have you play along with us this week. Be sure to check out what the other talented designers/players have created for this fun challenge at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog.
