In just about a week (July 1) you will be able to order new products from the 2017-2018 Idea Book and Catalog. There are so many beautiful stamps and new products to choose from, so you definitely need to get that wish list ready as soon as possible. Every year Stampin' Up! introduces five new In Colors to our already wonderful pallet of beautiful colors. With that in mind, we decided to focus on the new In Colors for our Fancy Friday Blog Hop. These amazing new colors are Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Lemon-Lime Twist, Powder Pink, and Tranquil Tide.
It is difficult to pick a favorite, but I use a lot of greens on my cards, so I decided to focus on the vibrant and beautiful Lemon-Lime Twist.
Stampin' Up! also released a chart of suggested In Color Combinations, so for our blog hop we were supposed to pick one from the chart below. I chose to use the one on the far left under Lemon-Lime Twist.
One thing to keep in mind is that I used ink refills on watercolor paper, so the colors don't appear full strength. I used the playful images from the new host set, Feathery Friends. You can earn a host set for yourself by hosting a Stampin' Up! workshop or by placing an order of $150 (US). This beautiful set will be available on June 1, 2017.
For this card, I started by stamping the floral images on Canson XL 140 lb. watercolor paper that I purchased at my local craft store. I treated the paper with an Embossing Buddy, stamped with VersaMark ink, and added white embossing powder. Then I heat set everything with a heat tool. I did the same thing with the sentiment from One Big Meaning on Lemon-Lime Twist cardstock.
While I had all my supplies out on my table, I decided that it was just as easy to make two backgrounds, so I made a second card using the same supplies.
For this card I trimmed the background and applied it to a top-folding card base made with Lemon-Lime Twist cardstock. I also die-cut the sentiment with the new Stitched Shapes Framelits and layered it on a scallop circle (Calypso Coral cardstock) cut with the Layering Circles Framelits. These die sets were made to work perfectly together.
I also added some Linen Thread to both cards...something that I just love to do on my projects! :)
I can't wait to see what the other Fancy Friday team members have created. Be sure to hop on over to visit my beautiful and talented friend, Jeanna Bohanon.
I WOULD LOVE TO BE YOUR DEMONSTRATOR!
If you are in the United States and need a demonstrator, then you can order your supplies in my online store here.
