We have a great sketch challenge this week at Global Design Project.
Typically I love sketch challenges, but I struggled a little bit with this one. You have heard me say time and again, sketches are meant to be an inspiration, not a hindrance. I basically followed the sketch, but instead of adding a greeting (which would have been strange since my focal point was a greeting) I opted to switch things up and add flowers. But then I had an issue with balance, so I added more flowers to the opposite corner.
I am a little behind in ordering new product, so I decided to focus on some items that are retiring at the end of this month. I started with a Basic Black top-folding card base and then covered the front panel with some retiring Playful Palette DSP. I added some linen thread at an angle as indicated on the sketch and then added a panel of Crumb Cake cardstock stamped in Basic Black with the Big on Birthdays photopolymer stamp set. I used more of the flowers from the Special Reasons Bundle that I already had stamped and cut to add a little pop of color.
We would love to have you play along with us this week. Be sure to check out what the other talented designers/players have created for this fun challenge at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog.
I WOULD LOVE TO BE YOUR STAMPIN' UP! DEMONSTRATOR
If you are in the United States and need a demonstrator, then you can order your supplies in my online store here.
