Our theme this week over on the Global Design Project blog is "Sparkles and Bling".
Don't laugh, but for some reason I had a lot of trouble with this challenge. Sounds silly, right? Seriously, almost everything I make has something on it that fits this challenge, but when push came to shove I really just hit a wall. I think it must be because life has overwhelmed me a bit lately. I recently mentioned that I started a new job a few weeks ago and it has taken me a little longer to adjust to the new schedule than I had hoped. I will get there eventually, but in the mean time, I am having to take a step back from stamping. Thankfully, I had this project already made from w-a-y back in November. Normally, I don't recommend procrastinating, but sometimes it pays off and in this case it turns out to be a good thing. LOL!
This popcorn box was made using the soon-to-retire Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack. I am really going to miss these paper stacks. They are my "go-to" papers when nothing else seems to work. I adore the polka dots and stripes. For the focal point, I stamped and embossed the horse from Carousel Birthday with VersaMark and gold embossing powder. This stamp set retires at the end of May, so if you want it, be sure to get it now. Those fun little flowers are from the same Popcorn Box Thinlits die and the leaves are borrowed from the popular Swirly Scribbles Thinlits dies.
We would love to have you play along with us this week. Be sure to check out what the other talented designers/players have created for this fun challenge at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog.
