Our theme this week at Global Design Project is 3D or Off the Page.
I love happy accidents and not too long ago I discovered that if you use the Baker's Box die, fold in the flaps, and add a simple roof that you can make these adorable little bird houses.
When my son was in kindergarten I spent hours making Valentine treat bags for his class, only to have most of them demolished in a matter of seconds. I vowed, "never again"! So from that day forward, I have kept it simple when making treat bags/boxes for children. These little boxes are perfect for kids because they are fun and you can whip a bunch of them together quickly.
Basically, you make the body of the box with the Baker's Box Thinlits Die exactly as directed. The only thing different is that you fold down one of the flaps and then you slip in the other flap to close the box. You may be tempted to cut off one of the flaps, but don't because you need the resistance it provides to keep the top of the box closed.
To make the roof you just need a 3.5"x4" piece of DSP scored in half.
Simply tie the roof on the box with some twine, add some washi tape, punch a heart shape and add your sentiment. See, I told you it was easy!
We hope you will join in the fun over on the challenge blog. I can't wait to see what you create!
I WOULD LOVE TO BE YOUR DEMONSTRATOR!
Don't forget, it is Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration time. You can earn free product with every $50 purchase.
If you are in the United States and need a demonstrator, then you can order your supplies in my online store here.
