Welcome back to our Fancy Friday Blog Hop. If you are enjoying our blog hop you should have just arrived from visiting the amazing Erica Cerwin. This month our theme is this amazing inspiration photo - copper, glass jars, succulents, dapper denim, marquee, flowers...there's lots to choose from. You can click to enlarge this photo to get a better look.
The annual catalog has lots of images that would work for this challenge, but the problem is that I don't have most of them, so I decided to focus on the color palette and the flowers.
The Detailed Floral Thinlits die has been extremely popular. I absolutely love it and it really does make a gorgeous card base. I die cut the background out of Thick Whisper White cardstock and layered it over a second card base made from Mint Macaron cardstock.
I drew my color inspiration from the bottom right photo of the inspiration photo. If you look closely you will see that sweet floral border on the table above the marquee letters. The other floral arrangements also have those soft pink flowers that I adore. I stamped the flowers & leaves outline from the Penned and Painted set with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed with Gold embossing powder. Then I stamped the additional two layers and fussy cut them out. The sentiment and frame are from the Rose Wonder stamp set and cut with the coordinating frame from the Rose Garden Thinlits die.
One important thing to remember is to add the ribbon before adding your flowers. Arranging the flowers was probably the biggest challenge with this card. Finally, I added some tiny pearls to the flower centers to give some extra texture and dimension.
I can't wait to see what the other Fancy Friday team members have created. Now be sure to hop on over to visit my talented friend, Jeanna (pronounced Gina).
