I took last week off from GDP because I drove to Atlanta, GA last weekend to take Copic Marker Certification Classes and a Coloring Flowers workshop, too. My best friend, Nancy Brown, and I have wanted to take the certification classes for many years and this is as close as the classes have been to Nashville in a l-o-n-g time. I haven't had time to play with my markers since I got home, but hopefully I will have a chance to show you some of the things I have learned soon. In the mean time, we have a sketch challenge this week over at the Global Design Project challenge blog. Not only have I been playing catch up from being gone, I have also been battling my springtime allergies. I needed for this card to be quick and easy so I decided to break open the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit and use one of the pre-designed card bases. This particular card had the same design printed on the front and the back, so I cut it in half. I saved the other half for later.
I die cut a butterfly from Whisper White cardstock with the medium Butterfies Thinlits and used sponge daubers to color it with Melon Mambo and Tangerine Tango ink. I stamped the greeting from the kit with Early Espresso ink. I attached the panel to a top-folding card base made with Thick Whisper White cardstock, then I wrapped it with Linen Thread.
I used some hot glue to attach the butterfly to the base and then the button on top. Here's another look at the finished card. I love how it turned out.
Be sure to check out what the other talented designers/players have created for this fun challenge at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog.
