It is CASE the designer this week over at Global Design Project challenge blog and guess what, the designer is ME! I have to tell you that it feels a little strange to have all the attention focused in my direction...but in a good way. So how does one CASE themselves? Well, I decided to keep the basic layout, stripes, and sequins, but I changed up the color pallet.
I am really enjoying trying my hand a water coloring, so this week I thought I would design a card that would be fairly easy to duplicate. I hand painted those fun stripes with an Aqua Painter waterbrush using Tempting Turquoise reinker...I watered it down some to get this really pretty wash.
I try to use Stampin' UP! product when possible, but I just could not get the look I wanted so I switched to Canson XL 140 cold pressed watercolor paper. It is my favorite (at the moment) for watercoloring with SU reinkers. If you think you don't like to watercolor, then it may be the paper you are using. I encourage you to try different brands to see what paper works best for you.
The word "hello" is from the Sale-a-bration set called Hello. It is the cutest little set and it is only available until February 15 (2016) so if you want it you had better hurry and place an order now! Here is one little tip...the word "hello" didn't stamp very well on watercolor paper because of the paper's texture, so I used a Project Life journaling marker to fill in the gaps...it makes a huge difference.
I hope you will check out what the other talented designers have created for this fun challenge and play along this week over at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog.
