This week over at Global Design Challenge we have a "Celebration" challenge. So what does that mean exactly? Well, just about anything you want it to mean...you can focus on a birthday, promotion, or party...there are always lots of fun things to celebrate!
I have to admit that at first I thought the challenge was about celebrating New Year's, so that is what I did. It wasn't until later that I found out that the challenge wasn't limited to ringing in the new year. I really struggled with this one because I just don't have that many supplies that scream "Happy New Year", so I decided to make my own. After all, it wasn't anything that some alphabet and circle die sets couldn't handle, right?
I used the largest circle in the Circles Collection Framelits to cut a Whisper White tag base. Then I used the two largest circles to die cut a frame to go around the edges. The easiest way I found to create the center was to apply Sizzix sticky adhesive to the back of some Gold Glimmer Paper and then die cut the letters. You could also use a Xyron if you have one of those. Then I just die cut the letters with the Little Letters Thinlits and applied everything to a larger piece of Whisper White card stock. After everything was exactly where it needed to be, then I used the second largest circle die to cut it out. I have to admit that it took me a couple of tries before I worked out all the details, but I am so pleased with the end result.
I hope you will check out what the other talented designers have created for this fun challenge and play along this week over at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog.
