Welcome back to our Fancy Friday Blog Hop. Right away you will probably notice that we have added a few new team members to replace those who had to take some time off. We are also hopping in a different order this month so keep that in mind as you follow along. You should have just arrived from visiting the amazing Erica Cerwin. Then when you leave here you will visit one of new team members, Krista Frattin. Some of you probably know by now that I was selected to be on the new 2015-16 Artisan Design Team. I have been a little under the weather since returning home from Dallas, TX for OnStage Local, so I will try to share a post in a few days when I am feeling a little better. Now on with our blog hop...this month we are sharing projects made with non-traditional Christmas colors.
Thankfully, I made this card before I got sick, and I am excited to show it to you! Can you believe that I didn't do any stamping on this card...not a bit! So first, let's talk about that fun background. I pulled out just about every yellow reinker I have in my stash (Daffodil Delight, Hello Honey, and Crush Curry) and used my Aqua Painter to create the background on watercolor paper. After it dried, I put droplets of water on it and then I used a paper towel to pick them up...I love this look!
These ornaments are much easier than you might think. I die cut circles of Whisper White card stock and then I just used sponge daubers in a circular motion to add ink. I deliberately created a light spot on each one to give the illusion of light. I die cut some gold foil paper with the Delicate Ornaments Thinlits Dies for the ornament topper and the bow is from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.
There really wasn't any room for stamping a sentiment, so I die cut the word "joy" from Gold Glimmer Paper using the Wonderful Wreath Thinlits Dies. Now be sure to hop on over to visit Krista and show her some love.
