This week over at Global Design Project we have a wonderful sketch challenge created by amazingly talented Teneale Williams. Here is the sketch that we are working with.
I never have enough Christmas cards when I need them, so I decided to get an early start this year. I started with some Home for Christmas DSP for the base. I stamped and heat embossed the snowflakes from the Flurry of Wishes photopolymer stamp set (#139732). I mounted some striped DSP on a piece of watercolor paper for stability and then cut it to 3"x3". Next, I added some twine and then attached it to the card base with Dimensionals. The tricky part of this card was the glittered bow. I used glimmer paper, but it is really stiff so I used a bone folder to curl the pieces before putting it together. I used mini glue dots to assemble the bow, but a hot glue gun would probably be a better choice. To complete the bow I added an Iced Rhinestone to the center. The Santa is from the Antique Tags hostess set (#139855/#140494) stamped in Real Red ink on Very Vanilla cardstock. I sponged the edges of everything with Early Espresso ink to give the entire card a vintage feel.
We would love for you to join us over at Global Design Project. Even if you don't have time to enter our challenge, be sure to check out the great projects made by our design team.
