We have a color challenge this week over at the Global Design Project blog. Our colors are Soft Sky, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz. I realize that these are spring colors, but remember, this is the Global Design Project challenge blog and it is springtime for our friends over in Australia, so there you go! :)
I started by stamping the flower from Best Thoughts with Memento Jet Black ink. Basically, I used reinkers and an Aqua Painter filled with 91% Isopropyl alcohol for most of the coloring. The flowers are Daffodil Delight. The shadows on the flower petals were added with a marker. I masked off the edges and the flower, then painted the background with Soft Sky reinker. I added some splatters and then stamped the flourish (Flowering Flourishes stamp set) in the corners with Soft Sky ink. I mixed Daffodil Delight and Soft Sky to color the leaves for a color very similar to Pear Pizzazz, but you could use the reinker and achieve similar results. The sentiment is from the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit. I also added white highlights to the flower stamens with a uni-ball Signo Gel Pen. Then I mounted everything on a white card base made from the new Whisper White Thick Cardstock. This 100-lb. cardstock is just right for creating card bases. Even though you can't see it in the pictures, I also stamped the same flourish on the inside corners in Soft Sky ink. It really helped tie it together with the front panel.
We would love for you to join us over at Global Design Project. The design team has created some gorgeous samples this week, so be sure to check it out.
