We are down to the last two Leadership display projects. It seems like they have gone on forever, so it is good to finally be winding down. I saved the cards I made from the Watercolor Wonder Suite for last. This card may look a little complicated at first, but it isn't really.
If you break things down, you will see that a lot of the work is already done for you. I used half of a Watercolor Wonder Designer Note Card for the front panel. This is a great way to get the look of a watercolored card front without the hassel. That adorable chevron paper looks handmade too, but it is from the Watercolor Wonder DSP pack.
Above is a close-up look at the flowers. I stamped them on the card base and again on some scrap watercolor paper. They were really easy to color because I used the watercolor effect stamp from the same kit and stamped over the flowers for a shaded effect. If you look at the Pumpkin Pie flower closely you can see the graduation in color. Then I just fussy cut the flower pieces and layered them on top of the flowers that were stamped on the card base. I popped the Pumpkin flower up with dimensionals so that it looks more realistic.
I punched two tiny holes on either side of the center flower stem and threaded some Pumpkin Pie Baker's Twine (from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit) and tied on a small bow. Then I just added a few butterflies that I stamped from the Papillion Potpourri set and scattered some basic rhinestones and that is all there is to it.
We only made card fronts for the display, but if you were making this you would mount everything on a top-folded card base layered with some chevron DSP and some more baker's twine.
I hope you are enjoying our projects that we created for the 2014 SU Leadership Display Boards. Here is a list of the other Artisan Design Team blogs. Be sure to check out their inspiring projects!
