(Find out HERE how you can win some Blog Candy!)
We are on the home stretch of our ten day blog hop and I have saved my favorites for last. I hope you have enjoyed seeing my projects as I have had sharing them with you. I truly appreciate all of your sweet comments and emails. It is always a little fun to tell others why you did something a certain way. Sometimes pictures just don't do a project justice. You can never turly appreciate most projects unless you can see them in real life. It's nice to actually take time to study them and take in the things that make it so wonderful. Things like texture and sparkle just seem to get lost in a photograph.
This page of my niece has to be one of my all-time favorite scrapbook pages, EVER! It is 100% traditional and very, very girly. This wasn't exactly a quick page to design, either. Of course everyone in my family loves it too. Now they all want me to make them one..."and Connie just laughed and laughed, 'cause she knows it will never happen!" LOL! There are so many details on this page that it is hard to know where to start...so how about the beginning?
Designing home decor with old, weathered shipping pallets is really popular right now. I wanted to create a page that captured the feel of weathered wood. To achieve that look I used White StazOn ink and rubbed in onto some embossed woodgrain Natural Copostion Specialty DSP. Then I quickly used an old rag to remove some of the ink before it had a chance to dry. After the ink had throughly dried, I cut the DSP into 1" x 6" strips and sponged the edges with Early Espresso ink. Then I attached the strips to a cardstock base just like I would if I were laying a hardwood floor. Does that make sense? In other words I varied the lenghts so that no two seams were in the same spot. Once I had that complete, then I got busy stamping all of those beautiful flowers with the Stippled Blossoms stamp set. There's LOTS of fussy cutting on this page to be sure!
