Welcome to the blog hop for the new Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team. You will see some of your favorite design team members from last year, a couple of former Artisan Award winners, and some fresh, new faces. Each day for the next ten days, we will be sharing the projects that earned us a spot on the 2013 Design Team. This will enable you to get a closer look at each of the projects and get the inside scoop on how they were created. The blog hop makes a complete circle, so if you visit all ten blogs, you should end up where you began. If you are hopping you should have arrived here from Cindy Schuster's blog. When you finish here, you will move on to visit Erica Cerwin's blog. Just use the forward or back arrows at the end of each post to see all of the incredible projects made by all of these amazingly talented demonstrators.
For my first project I decided to share one of the five cards I submitted. This particular card is traditional (in that it is hand-stamped) and somewhat traditional/shabby chic in design...although I did freshen it up a little by selecting a slightly more trendy color for the card base.
I have to be honest and tell you that this card didn't exactly start out this way. The original design had a much more trendy background dsp, but when I showed it to a couple of close friends, they suggested that I needed to go back and rethink it a little. I am really glad I did, because I was thrilled with the end result. I gained a lot of inspiration from the Artisan Embellishment Kit that was available in the Spring catalog. The focal point of the card is the ribbon rose heart. I used a hot melt glue gun to attach the flowers to the back side of a laser cut heart from the More Amore Specialty DSP collection.
Here's a quick look at the inside. I embossed the top and bottom portions while leaving the center section open for a sentiment.
Stamps: Loving Thoughts; Paper: Pool Party Core’dinations CS, Very Vanilla CS, More Amore Specialty DSP; Ink: VersaMark Pad, Early Espresso Pad; Accessories: Big Shot Machine, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Artisan Embellishments Kit, Basic Pearls, 5/8” Flower Trim, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Dimensionals, Sanding Block, Stampin’ Sponge, Sticky Strip Tape.
Now be sure to check out the other blogs and definitely be sure to check
back every day as we each post our ten award-winning projects.
