So what do you do when you have to make several cards of the same design but you don't have enough of everything to make them EXACTLY alike? Do what I did and MIX IT UP! Shortly after being notified that I was a finalist for the Artisan Design Team I had a close family member go into the hospital for what was "supposed" to be outpatient surgery. Unfortunately, just a few days after returning home she developed complications and had to be admitted into the hospital for several days. I certainly didn't mind being there to help out during this difficult time, but it put me in a little bit of a difficult situation. I needed to make swap cards for convention but I didn't have time to order supplies. That meant I needed to work with what I already had on hand...Whisper White Card Stock, Brights DSP, Regarding Dahlias stamp set, and the Gently Falling stamp set. I didn't have time to be original either, so I selected this card that I had recently created for my blog and modified it.
This is what I ended up with...one card with six different color combinations. I was also able to stretch my supply of buttons and use all six colors from the same package. I did end up dipping into a second package, but for the most part I think I used my supplies effectively. I stamped all of the flowers and leaves with StazOn Jet Black Ink and did TONS of fussy cutting & layering with Dimensionals. I had to take several breaks but it was almost comforting to have something to do that didn't require much thought. Honestly, it was nothing short of a miracle that I even had time to take pictures of the finished cards, but here they are.
