Patriotic Embedded Embossing Card

With the new catty set to go live on Friday afternoon, I thought I would share a quick card that I made with the retiring star punches. One of our very good friends retired from the Army National Guard this week and I needed to make a quick card before heading out the door to his retirement dinner. I have never really felt like masculine or patriotic cards were my strong suit, but this card came together in just a few minutes and I was pleased with the results. I think it is very timely that Independence Day is this weekend. I don't really know why you would give a card for July 4th, but if you needed to, this one would work quite nicely.

I started with a card base made with Crumb Cake CS and then glued punched stars and a stripe to the card front. Then I just ran it through the Big Shot with the Lattice embossing folder. I added a quick sentiment from the Oval All set and that's it. Happy 4th!

Craft Project Central - Project 9

Engraved Greetings Birthday Card

I do my best to always use current stamps on the projects I create for my blog. I mean, afterall, what good does it do to show you a stamp set that you can't buy anymore? With that in mind, there are a few really great stamp sets that I am really going to miss. I have barely used the Happy Birthday stamp from the Engraved Greetings set, but I personally think that you may want to consider this one when placing a last minute order before it is gone forever.

 

I created this 3"x3" notecard with Melon Mambo card stock and then layered on some Patterns DSP and a piece of Sweet Stitches DSP. You can't purchase this particular paper anymore, but it lives on forever as a digital download, so if you love it as much as I do, then all you have to do is print it at home. I am really thinking that I may need to sit down sometime and make a full set of these notecards to give as gifts. Oh Engraved Greetings...I'm gonna miss you!

Craft Project Central - Project #8

Today's incredible project for Craft Project Central is a Fabulous Florets Tri-Fold Card Holder created by the guest designer Wendy Weixler. Make this pretty little trifold card holder, give it to a friend and tell her once she uses the cards inside, so make more and pass it along to another friend!  And so on, a kind of "pay-it-forward" gift!  What could be more fun than that?  This is a fun and easy project that is a great gift, as mentioned, and is also a great class or club project!

MDS Hybrid Fairy Tales Gift Bag

Today's project is one that I have actually had lying around on my stamp table for a while. I had the medallion finished, but I needed to find a gift bag to attach it to. I finally found the perfect plain white gift bag and added some DSP from the Neutrals collection to dress it up. I don't have a wedding to go to right now, so I left the bag empty and I will put it away and wait for the perfect occassion. I don't know if you can tell it from the photograph, but this medallion is really big. It's a full seven inches across. These big medallions are really popular at the craft store right now, but with a cost of almost $10 each, I decided I could make one just as gorgeous for a fraction of the cost.

I used the same process as the mediallion I made a few weeks ago, here. I used My Digital Studio to create the sentiment, cut it out with the clear circle die, and layered it onto a large scallop circle made with Basic Black CS. I finished it off by pleating some Basic Black DSP. The added pearls give it the elegant touch that makes it perfect for a wedding or bridal shower gift. I almost can't wait for someone to get married so that I can give this to the happy couple.

Hi everyone! While I am busy working on my convention swaps (which I will share with you in July), I have another Craft Project Central project to share with you. I will try to squeek out another project to share with you soon.

Here is a cute little "planting party" birthday invitation and favor box designed by the fabulous Lynn Pratt.  This is a cute idea for a boy (or girls birthday party.  It would also be cute for a garden party or as a gift for someone who loves gardening!  Project includes instructions and templates for the invitation and favor!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge with a Twist

I haven't stamped in a few weeks, so when I sat down to make a card it was a little bit of a struggle. I haven't done one of Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenges in a while so I decided to start there. I did say that I would try to get something new for you, so here it is.

 

Things just didn't fall into place like I wanted them to, so I ended up turning the sketch on its side and felt a little better about the results. I will give you a little hint...there's a really neat pennant die in the upcoming catalog that includes this wonderful scallop circle die. I couldn't resist the desire to thread some thin ribbon around the edge. The result was something fun and playful that was just perfect for a birthday.

 

I had to try to get at least one more card out of my retiring Celebrations designer series paper. Even though I used a retiring paper, this is a little sneak peek of an upcoming set from the new catalog. With all of the kid birthday parties we attend, I am sure this card will find itself a new home very soon.

Craft Project Central - Project 6

I managed to survive Vacation Bible School this week, so maybe now I will have a little time to stamp. I still have a ton of to do to get ready for convention, but I will try to make an honest to have something new for you soon...but no promises!

In the meantime, today we have the Fabulous Florets Wedding Ensemble. This project includes instructions for the table ten, menu card, place card, favor box, and thank you card! This great project can easily be altered for other party themes like birthdays, showers, Thanksgiving, etc.!
