I love practically everything about spring...except the allergies that go with it, but I can deal with that. Today's card is inspired by the beautiful colors starting to emerge in nature all around us. Lots of green with pops of white and pink. You should see my beautiful pear trees...gorgeous.
The gals over at Hand Stamped Sentiments were so inspired by the beautiful spring colors that they built this week's challenge around it...so I decided to enter this fun, colorful card. I have been feeling a little inspired to use my stamps more on my projects. I used the flower from the Growing Green stamp set and the masking technique to create the background paper for this card. When I first started with Stampin' Up! eleven years ago, we didn't have all of the wonderful accessories and designer series paper like we do today. I am not complaining. I defintely love that we have so many wonderful tools and trims at our disposal. Aren't they wonderful?
When I first saw the new pom pom trim on page 35 of the Occassions Mini Catalog, I thought "that's cute, but what ever would I do with it?" So I decided to take a chance and I put some Melon Mambo trim (#123322) on my most recent order. Last night I finally had a chance to open it and play with it...and this is what I came up with. It makes the perfect center to this fun flower that I made with my Tasteful Trim XL die and my paper crimper. This thing is a little bulky, so I pulled out the hot glue gun to make sure everything was nice and secure.
For the flower center I basically punched a piece of Melon Mambo CS with my 1" circle punch for the base. Then I used the hot glue gun and started in the center and wrapped around & around until I had the size I needed. Nothing difficult...but it has lots of impact. Now I wish I had ordered every color of this fun trim! I guess we both know what will be on my next order. But don't miss this, because you only have until April 30th to place your order. Oh, and don't forget, Sale-a-bration end on March 30th, so don't miss out on all the free stuff you can get with that as well!
Have a great weekend. Hugs!
