After receiving so many wonderful comments on my last post, I decided to kick it up a notch and make a five-point star using the Deck the Halls DSP from the holiday mini catalog. I just LOVE this DSP! I am very sad that this isn't in the regular catalog because not only does it have beautiful holly and other Christmas designs, it has some gorgeous patterns that can be used any time of year.
Everything about this star is totally Stampin' Up! with the exception of the greenery. Here is a tip for making this star. Regular designer series paper isn't really heavy enough, so I glued my dsp to some Crumb Cake (kraft) cardstock and then cut it out. Also, just like in sewing, if there is a pattern or words, you need to plan where you want them to be on the finished project so that you can cut it with the correct orientation.
I am really bummed, because I spent quite a bit of time on this post yesterday, only to find out that it had vanished. Totally gone! I don't have a clue what happened, but when I checked this morning to see if it had automatically posted it was nowhere to be found. We have a big family gathering today so I don't have time to redo everything, but if you have any questions, please feel free to email me and I will try get back you so ASAP.
Also, I have been having a lot of spam comments lately, so I have decided to approve my comments before they appear on my blog...so never fear, your wonderful, encouraging comments will eventually show up!
