I hinted a while back that if you liked the Sweet Treat Turkey to check back later and I would have another fun use for the Sweet Treat Cups. This time I used the Oval Scallop Frame and my Big Shot to creat this fun little honey bee. I have a good friend who is really into honey bees so I was inspired by her to create these.
Here is a quick rundown of what I did to create this cute little honey bee:
I cut the Sizzix Scallop Oval Die twice in Basic Black and once in Yoyo Yellow for the body. The inside of the oval and the frame will come apart into two seperate pieces so you will need to tape the black frame/oval combination back together. I sandwiched the tulle in between the two black sections and adhered them together. You will only need the inside oval section of the Yoyo Yellow piece cut into strips to make the body stripes. Cut two Basic Black card stock circles measuring 2.5" and punch a 1.75" circle in the center of one of them. Slip the front circle and attach it to the front of the sweet treet with mini glue dot (just like I did in the turkey tutorial). Add candy to the sweet treet and cover the back with the additional 2.5" circle and attached to the body with glue dots or dimensionals. Hand cut antenne and punch two hearts from Yoyo Yellow card stock and attach to head. Add wiggle eyes and a small red mouth (1/2 of a small circle punch) with glue dots.
Here is something to try...I don't have the butterfly die yet, but you might want to try cutting the wings from vellum card stock and attaching those for the wings instead of using tulle.
