So Sweet Scalloped Envelope Treat Tote

This fun & easy tote was inspired by Linda Heller at www.StampingSchool.com. I used some dsp from Parisian Summer (retired) and Bella Rose to create this fun little cutie.

I cut two pieces of Pink Pirouette cs with my Scalloped Envelope die and put them together with Sticky Strip. Then I cut just enough dsp to cover the front of the box. I used the die to cut only the scalloped flap portion of the envelope (to save on paper). I used rub-ons from the Chit Chat collection for the greeting on the box.

The small flat 3"x5" cello bags are the perfect size to hold one .53 oz Ghirardelli chocolate square. I used a piece of Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon to tie off the bag and added a tag to complete the gift.

Another Quick and Easy Card

This card took a little more time than the one I shared the other day, but it is still basically a very easy card to create if you have the right tools. For this flower I used Raspberry Tart DSP and the Layered Flower die. The card base is textured Cameo Coral cs. I used the new Eyelett Border punch and Whisper White cs to add some elegance.

The new Beautiful Butterfly die is still on my wish list, so to create this one I used the "Heart to Heart" punch. I punched four medium sized hearts and then punched a small hole at the bottom tip of each. I used a rhinestone brad to connect the layers. The body/antennas of the butterfly are constructed with 20 gauge silver wire and added to the back with mini glue dots. The sentiment is from the Chit Chat rub-on collection...perfect for textured cardstock!

So Easy, So Elegant

Things are still a little crazy in my household, so I wanted to share a quick and easy card that I created using my Big Shot.

When I first became a demo, my dear friend and upline, Kelly, (now retired) frequently used tulle on her projects and they were fabulous. So every once in a while I will pull out my rolls of 6" tulle and add it to one of my projects. I think I have tulle in just about every color available. It is inexpensive and adds alot of easy elegance.

This card uses the Raspberry Tart dsp for the card front. The photograph makes it look pink but the flower is actually made with Cameo Coral cs using the Layered Flower die. The most important thing to remember when using this die is to add dimension to the flower by sponging the edges (I used Cameo Coral ink), curl the edges of each layer using something like a pencil, and then give each layer "lift" by using dimensions between each layer. I also added dimensionals to attach the finished flower to the card. Before attaching it I used the Little Leaves die to cut some leaves from Kiwi Kiss cs and placed them behind the flower for more interest.

For the sentiment I used the word "happiness" from the Bright Delights rub-ons and punched it with the Large Oval punch. I used my scallop punch on Kiwi Kiss cs and cut it down to add some color and interest to the sentiment.

Elegant Parisian Breeze Scallop Card

This very elegant card was made using the scallop circle die and the new Parisian Breeze Speciality paper. This card only measures about 4 1/4" but it is packed with beautiful elements like half-backed pearls and gorgeous silk chocolate ribbon (retired). The sentiment is stamped with the Dreams du Jour set in Chocolate Chip Craft Ink and heat set. Then I added some subtle color to it using a blender pen and some Baja Breeze ink.

Things are still a little crazy here at our house, but hopefully everything will settle back down and return to "normal" soon. Thanks to everyone who showed support and concern over the recent loss of my grandmother. She was a special lady and we will miss her greatly!

Butterfly Basket & Blooms

This is one of those projects that I wasn't sure I was going to share on my blog. It is more of a prototype, but with me preparing to leave for my parents house for my grandmother's funeral, I decided to pull it out anyway.

Sometimes when I am unsure of where a project is going, I will use retired DSP. It really gives me a better sense of the project than plain white card stock. With this basket I used some retired hostess DSP from last year's Spring catty. I cut the basket in Almost Amythst with my Big Shot Basket & Blooms Die. I made the butterflys with my new Heart to Heart punch and secured them together with rhinestone brads. I used some 24 gauge wire for the antennes and body on each. I finished it off with a pretty pink grosgrain ribbon (Offray). Remeber, to get a closer look, you can click on the picture.

These would make really cute Easter goodie baskets for your friends, your Sunday School class, or your child's class at school.

In Memory of my Grandma

I dear sweet grandma, Lola E. May Lackey went to be home with Jesus early yesterday morning. She was 90 years old and ready to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ. I have never know anyone who loved the Lord more than Grandma.

I come from a family of crafters but Grandma was the first one to really instill in me the "love of crafting". Her speciality was quilting. Thankfully, I have several quilts that she hand-crafted over the years.

I will cherish her memory forever!

Spring Flower Pot

I don't know about you, but I am ready for spring. This winter has been especially cold here in Tennessee and quite frankly, I don't care for it one bit. Now you would think it wouldn't bother me, especially since I am originally from Huntington, West Virginia, but the truth is, if it's gonna be this cold, I want lots of snow to go with it! We don't get much snow in Nashville...so now I have a little case of spring fever!

My good friend, Dana, turned 50 the other day and I needed a little something special for her. She loves to garden, but with Valentine's Day only a few days away, I didn't want to give her flowers because they are too darn expensive this time of year. When I found this adorable idea by Julia Bettencourt I knew immediately that it would be the perfect gift for a wonderful friend.

I purchased the flower pot kit from Target's Dollar Spot in Mt. Juliet and covered the container with So Saffron Dotted Swiss DSP from Parisian Summer (retired). The flower is made from Real Red Dotted Swiss DSP (retired). You can see how I made the flower here. I used three layers and added a black & white gingham brad (Hot Off The Press). The greeting is from the "Congrats" Sell-a-bration set that you can earn for free (for a limited time) with a $50 purchase. I finished everything off with an adorable red dotted swiss bow (Offray Ribbon) and attached it with a mini glue dot.
