Sometimes there is an idea that pops into my head and I say, "Where did that come from?" This is one of those ideas.
I was out surfing earlier today and read where someone had been challenged to make a "green" card (i.e. recycled). I was just kicking around the idea around in my head about the time I went to the Mexican restaurant for lunch. They handed it to me in a black styrofoam container. As I sat down to eat I began to study the container and I thought, "I wonder how this stuff would do in my Big Shot?" As soon as I finished eating, I washed out the container and went directly to my die cut machine. Out came the most interesting, dimensional, and super lightweight snowflakes.
It is really difficult to see it from this photograph, but this card turned out absolutely gorgeous! The card base is 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" and made from Basic Black card stock layered with 5"x5" Shimmery White cs. I applied the black snowflakes with Tombo Multi-purpose Adhesive to the white layer, trimmed the excess, and then added it to the card base. The sentiment is stamped in Graphite Brilliance Ink (All Holidays stamp set). When it was all finished, it felt like it could use a little more bling, so I pulled out some crystal snowflakes by Darice that I purchased last week at Michaels. All I can say is WOW! I think I'll go back to this restaurant for more meals just so I can make some more of these cards. Well, that's not the only reason...they serve wonderful food there, too!
