Our AC is broken and we are in day five of sleeping in our basement. To say that I am a bit tired is an understatement. Thankfully, they are coming today to start installing a new unit, but realistically, it will probably be at least one or two more nights of camping out on the couch downstairs before we can return to blissful slumber. Yes! I am a wimp when it comes to high heat and humidity! Needless to say, there isn't any stamping going on in this house. With that in mind, I thought I would share another card from convention displays.
This card is a little out-of-the-ordinary, but it was definitely fun to make. It all began with a 4"x5.25" piece of silver glimmer paper. I used a grid sheet and some sticky notes to mask off portions of the background. Then I used some of my "older" markers and colored the stripes in sections. (This project is a little hard on your marker tips.) If memory serves me correct, the colors I used were Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, and Pacific Point.
To seal the wet ink, I coated the colored paper with clear embossing powder and heat set it. You really can't tell much difference in how it looks, but it goes a long way toward keeping the ink and the glitter in place for a much cleaner finished project.
The stamp set is "Your Amazing". I used markers to color the different portions of the stamp. I also used a couple of the new framelits dies as well. The AC guy just arrived, so I need to run. Talk to you soon!
