First of all, I would like to thank everyone for your kind words and prayers on my behalf concerning my recent auto accident. When you have such a close call, it makes you realize just how precious life is and that it could end in a split second. Please say a little prayer for the man who was driving the other car and the two children who were with him. I have no doubt that they are dealing with many of the same issues as I am and maybe even more. It has been a busy week with a trip to the doctor, dealing with the insurance companies, and picking up a rental car. On top of all that, our homeschooling is getting ready to kick into high gear as we begin tutorial next week. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. I haven't really haven't had time or motivation to get back to stamping just yet. So today will share two swap cards I received at convention.
When you look at today's post you may say to yourself, "I've think I've seen that card somewhere before", and you would be right. If you look on page 159 of the new Idea Book and Catalog you will probably say "ah ha"! This is the card we each received from Melody Hyde at the Artisan Award dinner. Melody is a concept artist for Stampin' Up! and let me tell you, she is a total sweetheart. She shared with all of us how much she loves working for Stampin' Up! at her "dream job". I think it is totally cool that she gave us each a reproduction of the card she made for the catalog. Honestly, how many people can say that they have an actual card from the catalog made and signed by the original concept artist?
This next card was designed by Amy Yingling. Amy is also a concept artist, but more importantly she manages the art dept. at Stampin' Up! Amy is one talented gal and she really has her act together. We listened with amazement as she talked about all of her responsibilities at the company. I don't know how she does everything and still has a life. Isn't this just the cutest card? I don't think you will find this in the catalog, but who cares...it is amazing. She stamped this awesome card, made the adorable flag embellishment, and sewed a vellum envelop for it all to go in.
It was truly an incredible experience to meet both of these talented ladies, hear about their jobs, and recieve these incredible cards. I will cherish them forever!
