One of my favorite things to add to a card is gingham. It can be gingham ribbon, paper, or embellishments... it really doesn't matter...I just love gingham. I have decided that life is too short not to include gingham on my stamping projects just because SU doesn't have it in the catalog. (There is one sheet of gingham dsp in the Pawsitively Prints collection.) So please forgive me of my gingham indulgence every once in a while. You know I really try to keep my blog 100% Stampin' Up!, but sometimes a girl has to do what a girl has to do. :)
Now that I have confessed my gingham obsession, I thought I would share this sweet little 3"x3" note card made with "A Flower for All Seasons" stamp set. This is one of the sets I chose for free for Sale-a-bration. (BTW...Sale-a-bration ends in one week...so be sure to place your $50 order so that you can take advantage of this once-a-year opportunity.) I am totally in love with this adorable little set. One of the best things about it is that it's extremely easy to color. For this card I collected the ink in the lid of the ink pads and used my blender pen to color in the images.
For more intense color I carefully used a stampin' write marker for the darker areas of the flowers and the bird and then blended. Oh, I forgot to mention that the sentiment is from the Easter Blossoms stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog.
All supplies SU unless noted: basic black, whisper white, and bashful blue card stock; basic black classic ink pad; blender pen; A Flower for All Seasons & Easter Blossoms stamp sets; bashful blue patterned dsp; crumb cake, bashful blue, and daffodil delight classic ink pads & stampin' write markers; gingham ribbon (non-SU).
