I have been out of town for the past few days, but today I finally got the chance to sit down and play Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.
I decided to break in a new addition to my stamp arsenal, "Humor in High Heels". I have to say that I think it is one of the most adorable, yet most overlooked, stamp sets in the catalog. It is probably my new favorites.
This is my first attempt using this sketch. The problem...I tried to do it from memory and I just didn't get my measurements correct. Not to say that I don't like this version, but it just wasn't true to the challenge, so once I figured out what I needed to do to correct it, I gave it a second shot and this is what I came up with.
Have you ever played one of those games on the kid's menu at your favorite sit down restaurant where you have to list what is different in the two pictures...well this reminds me of that game.
To tell the truth, I like the first card better. Mostly because I like the way the stitched ribbon compliments the dress image. I also like the simplicity of it. So what is the lesson to be learned? Well, sometimes you use the sketch as a guide, but you don't always have to follow it exactly.
