Let
me start out by saying that I am not of Latino heritage (as you can
probably tell from my photo) but I just love the idea of a
15-year-old girl having the opportunity for such a wonderful
celebration of becoming a woman. I do have two beautiful great nieces
who have a Latino mother, but it will be a few years before we get to
plan a
Quinceañera
for either of them.
I first learned about Quinceañeras while watching Disney Channel's
program called "Wizards of Waverly Place". As a matter of fact, that is
about all that I know about them...so I truly apologize if I sound like
I know more than I actually do.
This stamp set is available in our Celebrando Creativitdad catalog designed specifically for those who speak Spanish. Most of the items in the catalog appear in the larger English catalog, but everything is in Spanish. There are also some stamp sets that are designed to appeal to the Spanish-speaking community. Even though I don't speak Spanish, I fell in love with this beautiful stamp set and had to get it. Doesn't this beautiful girl look like a princess?
I must confess, I had a little trouble completing with entirely SU products. I have never been good at water coloring skin tones, so I stamped the image in Brilliance Graphite Black Ink (non-SU) on Whisper White card stock and use my Copic markers (non-SU). For her skin I used E00 (Skin White). I outlined the image with C1 (Cool Gray). I also had some difficulty getting the hair to come out solid and black enough, so I carefully colored her hair with a Black (100) Copic. Her lips, shoes and flowers are RV11 (Pink).
The dress and backround on this card uses Bella Birds DSP. I stamped the image of the dress on DSP and then adhered it to the card directly on top of the stamped image. I also added some Dazzling Diamonds to the flower boquet and on the flowers on the dress. To give her crown a more finished look I placed tiny rhinestones (non-SU) to her crown and for earrings.
What if you don't have someone who would like this card? Well, just change the greeting. Here I used the new Oval All stamp set. This would also be a wonderful image for a wedding, prom, or birthday.
